In 1990 NBC cancelled the ALF Sitcom. In the final episode of the sitcom ALF was captured by the Alien Task Force while waiting for his friends, also from Melmac, to finally pick him up from Earth. This episode was originally a "to be continued" episode, but since NBC cancelled the show it was not continued. In 1996 there was finally closure for ALF fans when the movie was released.
